Looks like the media right now is focusing on the efforts of the pilot to get the plane down safely. As for the cause of power loss, we may have to wait until the official investigation to find out. I hate waiting, lol.

My personal opinion is that it ran out of fuel. There was no explosion of any sort. And you've not heard anything about them trying to contain any spills.

There is the possibility that there was no explosion because the fuel tank wasn't punctured and because the plane slid in the grass instead of on the runway so there was nothing to create a spark and start a fire.

I was thinking about that as well but the wing-to-body fairing just looks too damaged to not have been issue with the fuel tanks.

But I guess it's easy to play investigator.

Eventhough we all hate it, we need to have patience until the official investigation is done and over with.
