I saw it when the article hit Indy Star but was too tired at the time and forgot to post it . I think the reason we are getting an expansion here is to make room for the displaced MD11's that are currently flying to MEM. I think they will become homeless when the A380's start flying there.

You're probably right on the MD's. But there were whispers from insiders about A380's in Indy and using IND as the primary hub for far east service. This is the first official word from FedEx about routing A380s to IND, so it would support what we've heard before. Having said that, however, I see the IND-A380 thing as just planning for the natural expansion of their business, not setting Indy up for any kind of unique service.
Can I get a peanut crumb with that thimble of Coke?ATAIndy

I do believe the Star was a little over excited with their news (wow thats a shocker ). The A-380 won't show up at IND until 2015, but it may not even show up then. Plus, its only supposed to be one flight a day. The point is a lot can happen in nine years, so the Star's speculation doesn't do much good at the present.
