NW will be adding 5 additional flights out of IND starting in November.

"INDIANAPOLIS -- Northwest Airlines said it will add five nonstop flights on its New York and Florida routes this year. The leading passenger carrier at Indianapolis International Airport, the Minnesota airline hauls about 23 percent of the airport's passengers, currently operating 42 daily nonstop flights to 19 cities.

On Nov. 1, Northwest will launch its fourth New York flight, a regional jet leaving each weekday at 2:30 p.m. for LaGuardia Airport. Four more Florida flights will give the airline twice-a-day service to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa. Pinnacle Airlines will operate the new LaGuardia flight for Northwest, using a 50-seat regional jet. Northwest will fly its 100-seat DC-9s on the new Florida flights"

So getting up to 47 flights a day is pretty close to the most we've ever had here. 51 was the most but I think that also included all the saturday service. I think most of these 47 will be daily.

By the way, did NW recently add the 0700 flight to MCI? The time before last that I went to KC, they didn't have an early-morning nonstop, so I had to take WN. But on my way to RDU yesterday, there was a flight to KC leaving at 7. What gives?

I think they changed the times. There used to be 3x daily to MCI now there is only 2x.

Cute wording, but it's not really an expansion though.

I think this is nothing more than a tool to try and drive AirTran out. BTW I looked late in the AirTran schedule (like march 2007) and they are listing only 1 LAX flight nad no SFO flight.

AirTran could add a flight to oh.... Boise and NW would come in with 3x daily to a route with no O/D.

That's pretty far out in the future, though. I wouldn't assume that Airtran is dropping any routes based on March 07 scheds. I made that mistake with the CO sched once, posted about it on flyertalk, and got royally flamed. In short, I wouldn't count FL out yet.
