Just got an email from AirTran announcing a new sale. Here is what they are offering out of IND.
Indianapolis - Atlanta $69
Indianapolis - Ft. Lauderdale $69
Indianapolis - Ft. Myers $79
Indianapolis - Orlando $69
Indianapolis - San Francisco $109
Indianapolis - Sarasota $69
Indianapolis - Tampa $69
Here is their disclaimer.
"All fares are one-way. All fares are non-refundable and a $50 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase plus any applicable increase in airfare. Seven-day advance purchase required. Tickets must be purchased by August 16, 2006. Travel must be completed by November 15, 2006. Fares are not valid for travel on Fridays or Sundays. Seats are limited, subject to availability and may not be available on all flights. Blackout date is September 4, 2006. Fares, routes and schedules are subject to change without notice. Fares do not include per-segment tax of $3.30. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 is not included. Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 are not included. Fares to/from Grand Bahama Island do not include U.S. and Bahamian taxes of $89.20."
They seem to be giving away the seats. Must be because of the very slow season.

This is the slow travel season AND hurricane season.
So everyone pretty much benefits if you're willing to take a risk. I'm going to Key West from St. Louis next week and am only paying $150 to fly INTO Key West. Usually it is in the neighborhood of $500 or so. Hotels are cheap.
