Mornin' all....

I don't know how many of you live near bodies of water, but up here in Lafayette we're bracing for very significant flooding of the Wabash River today and tomorrow. We got at least two inches of rain the past 24 hours, more up north, all on top of the already saturated ground, on top of the snow melt.

For those not familiar with the area up here, Lafayette and West Lafayette is basically one big city separated by the Wabash river. Normally the river in Lafayette is between six and eight feet, tomorrow it is expected to crest at 25 feet. If this holds, it will be about the 11th highest crest in recorded history, with major flooding and evacuations.

The Tippecanoe river is north of us, and received a bit more rain than we did. Conveniently the Tippy drains into the Wabash north of Lafayette, exacerbating the flooding situation.

I'd like to hear of any flooding problems in IND or anywhere else in the state.

If I get some pictures I'll post them.

Be safe!
