How soon will the "Future Crossover Taxiway" be built that is depicted in This schematic? It shows one going over all of roads coming from the I-70 Interchange.

If it happens i think it'll come when they build the runway to the south of 70

When do you think they would actually build that runway? I thought i heard that Fed Ex would predominantly use it if/when it is built. I would love to see that, but i would think that all of us A.Netters, etc. would end up in accidents because of the distractions

I heard that they weren't going to start construction on that until the entire midfield terminal project was complete.

I'm not sure why the crossover taxiway is necessary, except for FedEx birds landing on 23R. If that's its primary purpose, then I can see why they woudn't be in a hurry to build it.
Also - is IND still going to be upgraded for the A380? That might require some modification to the plans for the taxiway, depending on when those plans were originally drawn up.

I haven't heard IND was going to do anything for the A380 especially since FX decided to go with the 777F.

That's what I thought, too. Honestly, I haven't even thought much about the A380 for a while. Do you know if any U.S. airports are still planning to be A380-capable? The list used to include ORD, SFO, IND, SDF, JFK, DFW, and of course ANC, plus some others - I'm trying to remember. It'd be interesting to see an update.

lol, in order for ATL to be compatible, they would have to build an other parallel on columns over the city, they don't have much more room to expand
