Through July 2007 there have been just under 5 million passengers handled at IND. NW is #1 with a 24% share of the market. IND is on pace to handle approximately 8.4 million passengers this year. NW is on pace to hit 2 million passengers again. Something strange is that Southwest is #1 in cargo handled by passenger carriers. Despite handling 14% of the passengers they handle a third of all cargo carried by the passenger carriers. Way to go Southwest.

I think in general, there's a LOT of cargo moving to and through IND, and it's not all via FedEx. This is a major cargo airport, so it's no surprise that pax airlines are moving a lot of cargo here. But I agree it is surprising that it's WN. You'd think it would be NW simply by the share of flights here.
