For those of you who don't know an AFCAD is an airport modification file for FS2004. I'm making one for IND. There are 3 currently avaliable, 2 are very bad, the other does not include all the gates which is understandable because the default scenery makes it very hard to include all them.

So I have gone through all my intill reserach (Wikipedia, airport site, airnav, and google maps) and there is one inconsistency. Wikipedia says that concorse A is 100% Northwest, however google maps clearly shows a Southwest aircraft at concorse A. The above mentioned AFCAD also has gates that are coded for soutwest there. So whats going on here?

Also do Nwa and nwa airlink have specific gates or do they just park at any open nwa gate.

Ok NW uses all of concourse A in which there are 8 jet bridges. This will be difficult to setup exactly as it is in real life because NW does something unusual here. At 4 different positions they use one jet bridge for two different jets. You'll see those listed as A5A, A5B, A6A, A6B, A7A, A7B, A8A, A8B. If memory serves me correct the Pinnacle flights tend to use jet bridges 6 and 8. If you never need to confirm this the flight numbers for the regional jets runs in the 4000's+.

I have seen NW park a 757-300 at C2. I've also seen them at C5 and C7.

Here are the concourse maps with gate assignments.

Concourse A

Concourse B

Concourse C

Concourse D

There have been a few minor changes to the C concourse which I haven't updated yet. AirTran uses C2 and C1 (shared with Midwest Connect). C10 is a common use gate that they use daily. They used to use C4 but they seemed to have stop using it since they started sharing C1 with YX.

Please also consult the photo album in the forums for ideas on where NW parks jets overnight.

If you have any additional questions please ask away. I know you'll get all kinds of help from people here.

So if all you say is true whats with this.

I wish all the airports I did had comunity sites and forums it would make life a lot easier. The endless hours spent awake seraching SERACHING... aw some days its just not worth chewing through restraints...

I think concorse A is going to be one of the most difficult things I have ever done in AFCAD. The default scenery for this airport just sucks. It just can't handle a realistic amount of traffic which I have thanks to http://www.world-of-ai.com and its affliates.

BTW I life in Buffalo, New York check us out airliners.net

@ INDY: before you go spending money on payware scenery for airports check out http://Avsim.com for free stuf.[/url]

What you are looking at is an old photo. If you look around you'll notice there is little more than ground clearing done for the new terminal which at this point is a year from being completed. That pic is a good 2 years old. That was before NW picked up the contract with the airport authority for the remaining concourse A gates. WN moved to concourse C.

Here are pics before and after the change.

This pic is the end of the C concourse where NW lives now.

Wow, I never thought I would see the day where someone is actually going to take the time to make AFCAD files for IND. Its Wonderful! I

have WOAI on FSX, and I know that not all of the airlines at IND are on WOAI, so where are you getting the flight plans for those airlines?

Why do my favorite airlines end up going defunct??

I have every single WOAI package (other than mil) and every single PAI (new and old) that WOAI dosen't.

You can't use fs9 afcads in FSX they have to be made in either FSXplanner, ADE, or Airport ficiltator X (fs9 & FSX but cost money).

I would start making FSX afcads but my computer can barly run FSX so I couldn't test it and I put all my AFCADs through a long testing phase before I upload them. The whole process of designing one is made even longer by the fact that I always try to 5 up the best afcad out there. I don't see the point in making a crappy afcad thats not at all good compared to whats out there just to say you made one for that airport.

*end rant*

Well then I'll just have to stick with my WoAI packages and be happy with that.
