For 2009 the Indianapolis International Airport served just under 7.5 million passengers. Passenger numbers were beaten down dramatically by this extended recession. I do think there will be a slight recovery in 2010 but not a significant one. I don't think the economy will have recovered enough to make a big impact on the busy summer travel season. As a result I am predicting only a small increase from 2009. I expect approximately 7.75 million passengers to be served in 2010.
I have not seen any indication from the airlines that they are ready to add frequencies to IND, new routes, or larger jets. If things continue as they are now I would expect a bigger improvement in 2011.

That seems like a reasonable estimate. I'll go with 8 million just to have a different number.
Why do my favorite airlines end up going defunct??http://web01.jetphotos.net/showphotos.php?userid=16657

I'd love to see 8 million but that would be a pretty big jump over 2009.
