I think you have to have some local demand to make it work. I'm not sure the MSP market is big enough to support all the international service they have. All feed and low loads cannot be a good combination.

And just as easy to funnel through DTW if you're connecting anyway.

AF flies out of DTW too doesn't it?

Yes, both AF and NW fly to CDG from there on A330's. But they codeshare it, and it's nearly always the same price for either. I seem to recall being at DTW more than once when both flights were on NW metal, but I could be mistaken.
