Today marks the first flight to Cancun for Frontier from Indianapolis International Airport. Other than a newspaper article or two I haven't seen any kind of publicity surrounding this addition. Does anyone know how ticket sales are?

Is Frontier still operating the CUN flights? If so, how are they doing?

They're still operating it. In fact, they're quietly becoming the primary discount/leisure airline to Mexico. They fly to CUN from IND, BNA(Nashville), STL, MCI, DEN, SLC, and SAN. They also fly to Cozumel, Acapulco, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, PV, Mazatlan, and Cabo, plus Guadalajara. A couple of other non-DEN origins for those Mexican destinations, too.
As for how Frontier is doing IND-CUN, I don't know.

aren't they also selling block ticketing over to FunJet or Apple Vacations or something along those lines? that basically ensures that 50 seats are bought for each flight, if not more, which heavily substantiates/subsidizes/however you want to put it, the service.

Most airlines sell block tickets to tour operators of one sort or another. That's nothing unusual.

Right, but if they can get the contract first, then of course that just means that NWA has to work a tad bit harder to fill their seats.

I wonder how much of the CUN service is feed for NW? BTW have you looked at their saturday schedules in Jan? People coming back from CUN have overnight layovers.

How much does it cost to paint one of their planes with the animals on it? Is it a lot more expensive as opposed to putting on, let's say, a "symbol" of some sort?

I've always wondered if that's just paint, or maybe some kind of decal?

I don't know, that is interesting, and I wonder if their silvery paint cost more than normal as well.

Why would you want them to not fly non-stop? Granted it might be cheaper, but non-stop is so convenient.

That storm out west is a real pain--i think Frontier said they cancelled most if not all of their DEN flights.

And the plane are already mostly full..meaning that many won't be getting home or their destinations for xmas which stinks.
