I was at the airport last Thursday morning, July 14th, to pick up some visitors. We had a big group coming in from all different places, so I was looking at the boards to notice whether there were any trouble spots with flights that morning. The only flights with delays coming and going were AA flights to/from ORD, DFW, and MIA. While there were already some enroute Tstorms and Thursday ended up being a particularly bad day for flights from YYZ, BOS, EWR/JFK/LGA, PHL, and ATL, it sure seems like the morning AA flights were affected by something systematic. Anyone have any clues? Know anyone who flew AA that day?

I wonder if that was the day the entire NE was being slammed by storms. There were some huge delays.

That was the stormy day indeed. But what puzzled me was that this was before 8:00 a.m., before the storms had fired up. And the only trouble was with AA flights ex-MIA, ORD, and DFW.
