So I just flew in from BOS (and boy are my arms tired!), and when taxiing back to the terminal I saw a white 757 with a solid blue tail sitting in front of the ATA hangar. Its tail number is N919FD. Just looked it up, and apparently it's one of the first 757 deliveries to FedEx. See for yourself: http://www.b757.info/CN/24636.htm

It's got an interesting history. Started out with Ansett (that's Aussie/NZ IIRC) and ran as Air Holland and Air Aruba. Spent a lot of time with European charter airlines based out of the U.K. Was ferried to Indy about 3 weeks ago, and is supposed to be converted to freighter at Mobile. Looks like it's one of 14 757s delivered to FedEx so far, out of 90 to be in the fleet.

Can I get a peanut crumb with that thimble of Coke?

I know this thread is really really old but still.... There have regularly been 3 757's sitting on the west end of the north ramp at FedEx. I have noticed that one usually remains for a day sort flight. And there is usually at least one sitting for the weekend until sometime sunday night or maybe monday morning.

I think the 757s are used to fly day trips and occasional nighttime out and backs. I've heard that once more of them come on line that FDX will establish a 757 crew base here.
