Was talking to the folks at my office the other day, and realized that not everyone knew this little factoid: Indy has the tallest skyscraper in the Midwest outside of Chicago and Cleveland. The Bank One tower is 247 meters tall. That's taller than any building in Cincinnati, Columbus, Louisville, St. Louis, Kansas City, Omaha, Des Moines, Minneapolis, or Milwaukee. And there's only one building in Cleveland that's taller, the Key Bank Tower.

The Bank One tower in Indy is the 37th tallest building in the U.S. and the 103rd tallest in the world.

New York, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Philadelpha, San Fransico, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Cleveland, and Seattle are the only cities with one or more buildings that are taller than the Bank One tower. Sounds like good company to me. Although it'd be nice to build something in the 280 meter range to knock Charlotte off that list. Sheesh, Charlotte? Come on.

Another something to proudly tell the out-of-towners.

Except for the Stratosphere tower, nothing built so far in Vegas exceeds the height of the Chase Tower. Of those proposed to be built there, four buildings would exceed the roof height of Chase, but none would exceed the official height, which includes the spires.
